RE: Slide covers, are they a must?

We have two slides and both have slide covers. They were on the MH when we got it and as others have posted, they keep the top of the slide clean.

RE: Walmart or Sam's Fuel

Neither of the Walmarts close to me have fuel stations. Dont have a Sams Club but do have a Costco, which I believe is the same thing. Costco does have a gas station but no diesel. You have to swipe a membership card then credit card.

Regardless of the prices, we love Utah also. Thats why we go back there about three times a year. That and DW still has family there.

RE: Water Pressure Damage

Bumpy, In answer to your question, it will cut down the flow. The pressure from the faucet will remain the same whether the faucet is partially open or not.

RE: Water Pressure Damage

FWIW, in regards to not opening the faucet completely actually would do more harm than helping. Keep in mind, inside most faucets is a rubber gasket and if not opened completely will damage the gasket or cause it to dislodge and enter the water system. IMHO, its something to think about.

RE: On license and DOT cert.

FWIW, California has to be the worse state for registering vehicles. Every truck I have ever owned , even small Datsun PU, has had to have commercial plates on it. I dont think there is any way, at least here anyway, that you could get a non commercial plate for a pickup. Years ago, I had a friend who had a chassis mounted camoer and it required commercial plates.

Second Home

ID like something clarified if possible. Im in Calif, and that being said, Iv heard if you own an RV, whether MH ot TT, that you could claim it as a tax writeoff as a second home. Is this true? and from which tax entity. Fed or State or both? Thanks for any info on this.

RE: The dreaded brown mound or pyramid...

FWIW, when we bought our MH, after we got it home, we found one of those. The dealer claimed to have done a preinspection, which to me meant checking everything. Guess it was overlooked. I took a hose with a adjustable nozzle and sprayed the "mound" until it was gone. Added Geomethod to the tank and let it slosh around while on our first trip. Dumped the tank at the CG and havent had any prob since.

RE: Fishing

How much would you be willing to pay, for a national fishing license, with the idea that the Feds would divide the money fairly to support game fishing and other wildlife programs in all 50 states? $1000 a year? $500? $100? Of course, for this to work, all the states would have to give up their fee programs, so in order to fish anywhere, you would need the Federal license. My question regarding this idea is when did the Feds start doing anything fairly??:h

RE: They want to Buy my campsite!?!?

When I was working, with the job I had, I could take off a day or two before a major weekend, Memorial Forth of July or Labor Day, and get set up. Then Id leave a day after so I missed the traffic at the end of the holiday. Now that Im retired, I can travel during the week and I try to avoid them altogether. Makes sense??? Works for me.
